Projects are variable but will generally include hydrological and hydraulic assessment, and reporting on resultant recommendations and proposed designs. Mentoring and training will be provided by experienced intermediate and senior staff.

The ideal applicant will have:

  • High level of spoken and written literacy;

  • Good computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word, with knowledge of HEC-RAS being preferable;

  • Good organizational skills, including multi-tasking, self-management, taking the initiative to solve problems and the ability to meet deadlines;

  • Aspirations to eventually become a professional chartered water resources engineer.

It is not required that the successful applicant be skilled in all of the above bullet points so if you have some of these skills, we will still welcome your application!

All applications should contain your current C.V and Cover Letter. Send your application through to careers@geosolve.co.nz and copy nwilliman@geosolve.co.nz in your email by the 30th October 2025.

If you don’t have a current C.V or haven’t made one before, I recommend looking at Canva. They have a variety of templates available for free, that are professional and concise.

The successful applicant will be offered a position in the Queenstown office from November/December 2025 until February 2026 (subject to university term dates).
