Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Tim is a charted geotechnical engineer with extensive experience in a wide range of geotechnical engineering projects. His areas of expertise are geotechnical assessments and geotechnical assessment and design for buildings, retaining walls, and bridges. He also is involved with area wide assessments for liquefaction risk and peer reviews.
Tim primarily focused on providing advice for small to large structures and retaining walls. He has worked on a number of significant projects including the Invercargill Central Development, University of Otago Te Rangi Hiroa College, Skyline Queenstown Upgrade, Waterfall Park Development, various Ministry of Education projects and council slip remediation works. Previously in Christchurch, he was part of a significant number of insurance assessments, three anchor projects, fire station rebuilds, and North Canterbury Transport Infrastructure Recovery (NCTIR) Alliance design team.
Tim is an active member of the local engineering community. He is a practice area assessor for Engineering New Zealand, and the Dunedin co-branch coordinator of the New Zealand Geotechnical Society (NZGS). He also is the sole Otago/Southland/Stewart Island regional member of the Engineering New Zealand Disaster Recovery Panel. Tim has given presentations about proposed updates of liquefaction mapping in Dunedin which started the discussion about rezoning areas. He also has a paper published in the NZGS magazine about a review of the liquefaction mapping in Invercargill.
